Jill Ryan announces run for Eagle County commissioner
Vail, CO Colorado
EDWARDS, Colorado – Jill Ryan, 43, Thursday announced her candidacy for county commissioner, running for the seat of the term-limited Peter Runyon. Ryan is co-chair of the Eagle County Democrats and a member of the Eagle County Planning Commission.
“I care deeply about the future of the county, particularly given the economic downturn,” Ryan said. “We have a unique opportunity to be intentional and collaborative in planning for a vibrant recovery, and I want to be a part of that process.”
Ryan owns a public health policy consultant business, and is the former director of Eagle County’s public health department, director of the state health department’s planning office, and director of the state Office of Health Disparities. She was also a finalist for the state legislative seat to which Summit County resident Millie Hamner was appointed in 2010.
Ryan has lived in Eagle County since 1994, and is married to Taylor Ryan, a county engineer.
