Join the Vail Chamber & Business Association
Of all the different business organizations, why should you join the Vail Chamber & Business Association?Although the Vail Valley and its businesses are somewhat insulated from the current financial woes of the country, it is not impervious to them, and has already suffered some negative effects, specifically a reduction in real estate activity and a decrease in tourist dollars due to the uncertain economic climate and high cost of travel. Consequently, the success of burgeoning businesses, and, to a lesser extent, established businesses, becomes increasingly difficult due to these conditions. Because of this, it seems natural to move toward a supportive network, a group of people with collective experience, an intimate knowledge of the inner workings of the town of Vail, and a Vail focus that organization is the Vail Chamber & Business Association. The chamber, comprised of the venerable old guard of Vail and Lionshead businesses as well as the younger up-and-comers, is a wealth of business wisdom that can be shared with members. This shared knowledge and collaboration are helpful when dealing with state and local issues that affect the economic sustainability of Vail. The chamber staff and board of directors members, with their experience, are always available to answer questions or assist in any way possible. Our Vail-specific chamber has also become the first point of contact for many people researching a Vail vacation. The chamber connects inquires to our lodging, dining, retail, and other members over the phone and through the Vail Guide. All members are listed in this publication and given a discount on additional advertising. The Vail Guide is one of the most widely distributed guide books in the area so our member businesses gain additional marketing exposure. But there is so much more. Please call us for more information about membership at 970-477-0075, by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org, or on the Web at http://www.vailchamber.org. Beyond all the business acumen and advertising benefits, chamber membership also allows business owners to purchase a discounted Merchant Ski Pass. Even with the introduction of the Epic Pass, the Merchant Ski Pass will still be the ski pass business owners will use to attract and retain their valuable seasonal employees. In short, the Vail Chamber & Business Association is a Vail-focused business organization that will work with you to promote your business and be a consolidated voice on business development issues. We invite you to join our organization at the next membership meeting on Tuesday, June 10 in the Vail Town Council chamber. Featured speakers will be State Senator Dan Gibbs, who will give an overview of legislation affecting the mountain corridor and Vail Community Development Department Director George Ruther, who will update us on the proposed changes to the Vail Village master plan. Lourdes Ferzacca is President of the Vail Chamber & Business Association Board of Directors.
