Joining Vail’s chamber brings many benefits

Susie TjossemVail, CO, Colorado

We would like to invite every town of Vail business license holder to become a member of our organization, the Vail Chamber & Business Association representing Vail Village and Lionshead. The Vail Chamber is committed to a relationship with the business community, Vail Resorts and the town of Vail that fosters an atmosphere of communication, collaboration, and cooperation. We need your support in this endeavor and want to support you in turn. Our business association is your conduit of information to and from Vail Resorts and to and from the town of Vail. Our organization will represent you at town council, parking task force, Vail Economic Advisory Council and planning and environmental commission meetings. We will keep you in the loop, welcome your participation, advise you of important issues and let you know when your attendance at meetings will benefit our common goals. One of the most important benefits of your membership is mention in our organizations publication, the Vail Guide. Over the last couple years, it has become the most popular piece for dissemination of Vail information and a coffee table book for most hotels. A total of 50,000 guides are published twice each year, summer and winter. Distribution locations include Denver International Airport, Colorado Welcome Centers, and other information centers across the state and at consumer travel shows. Locally, the Vail Guide is handed out at information centers and businesses from East Vail to Gypsum. Its also available online and is mailed to individuals and groups requesting information electronically, by phone or mail. You receive a free listing in the back of the guide with your membership, but more important, you receive a substantial discount for additional advertising. Access to the Vail/Beaver Creek discounted merchant pass is also a popular benefit for businesses that need an employee pass that is transferable. Your membership in the Vail Chamber & Business Association allows you to purchase merchant ski passes for only $569 each. During the year the Vail Chamber & Business Association works behind the scenes to make your business more prosperous. Most recently we hosted a hugely successful barbecue event that kicked off the summer season June 21. Earlier this summer, we partnered with the town of Vail and the Vail Blue Moose in Lionshead to coordinate the annual Vail cleanup. As parking in Vail Village became a big concern, along with the town, Vail Resorts, the Vail Parking Task Force and representatives of the major construction projects, we organized a meeting of the business community to discuss and find solutions to our parking problems. In September, the Chamber will bring the Disney Institutes Keys for Excellence program to Vail. Attendance at the seminar will fulfill Turn It Up! requirements for the Merchant Pass Program and complement the very popular Premier Impressions program. And once again, we will be representing you at the Colorado Ski & Snowsports Expo in Denver in November. We appreciate your giving the Vail Chamber & Business Association consideration when you choose the business organization that best fits your needs. We are 100 percent focused on Vail Village and Lionshead and will work to make doing business in Vail easier and more profitable. Susie Tjossem is interim director of the Vail Chamber & Business Association and a member of that groups board of directors.
