Judge orders Colo. Springs man not to drive, drink
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado ” A Colorado Springs man accused of causing a deadly traffic accident is being ordered not to drink alcohol and not to drive as conditions of his bond.
Fourth Judicial District Judge Ronald Crowder issued the restrictions to 26-year-old Levi Van Kekerix, who was charged Thursday with driving under the influence, felony vehicular homicide, reckless driving and four other counts.
Van Kekerix is accused of rear-ending another vehicle June 13 and killing 8-month-old Azeleah DeLeon. The girl’s mother sustained numerous cuts and had to have stitches, and the baby’s uncle suffered severe burns and a broken back.
Van Kekerix agreed to the restrictions.
His attorney had said any decision on his client’s driving should be made after final blood-alcohol results were in.
