National recording artists Jurassic 5 and Gov’t Mule highlight the Teva Mountain Games schedule with performances at Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. These concerts, along with nightly film premiers, parties, presentations and free shows, combine to create a multi-day festival and alongside the outdoor competition of the Teva Mountain Games.

“From hillbilly to hip-hop, from kayaking to canine competitions, the Games will embody the spirit and diversity of the mountains,” said event organizer, Joel Heath of Untraditional Marketing. “We’ve worked hard to create a schedule that will appeal to all types of outdoor enthusiasts.”

The nightly entertainment at the Mountain Games kicks off on Thursday, June 3, with a free street concert in Vail Village by the Hackensaw Boys, an eight-member bluegrass band from Charlottesville, Va., that has toured with the likes of Cake, De La Soul and the Flaming Lips.

On Friday, June 4, hip-hop innovators Jurassic 5 take the stage at the Ford Amphitheater, bringing their unique L.A. sound to the mountains. Jurassic 5 released their award-winning debut album, “Quality Control” in 2000, followed by the commercially successful “Power in Numbers” in 2002. Since then, the band has toured heavily and performed on the Warped Tour and at Lollapalooza.

On Saturday, June 5, professional athletes, enthusiasts and spectators alike are invited to dust off the old polyester suit to celebrate the summertime at the second annual TevaMountain Ball.

The Teva Mountain Games will go out with a bang on Sunday night with a concert by Gov’t Mule, a southern blues-rock band. Gov’t Mule was created as an Allman Brothers side project by guitarist Warren Haynes, bassist Allen Woody and drummer Matt Abts. The band debuted in 1995 with a self-titled album on Capricorn Records and followed up with a heavy touring schedule.
