Town Talk
Carol Conger, family nurse practitioner at the Eagle Care Clinic of Vail Valley Medical Center, was recently chosen as a finalist for the Nightingale Award. This award was created to honor nurses in Colorado who best exemplify the philosophy and practice of Florence Nightingale, a 19th century nursing pioneer. Carol is well known in Eagle County, at least to countless parents who have had babies here. She provides prenatal care to more than 100 women each year as well as teaching a prenatal class to expectant moms and dads, conducts “Baby and Me” classes for new moms, and teaches nursing at Colorado Mountain College. Her passion for nursing, her caring for the community, and her advocacy for the Spanish speaking community is only a small part of why she was chosen as a state finalist. Six award winners will be selected on May 6 in Denver. Congratulations, Carol!
