VAIL – Kathy Morrow and her trio will return to the Vail Jazz Festival stage on Meadow Drive for a free jazz per-formance Sunday at noon at the Vail Farmers’ Market.

Morrow has been singing and play-ing the piano in the Vail Valley for the past 17 years after traveling and per-forming in Europe, Asia and parts of the Middle East. Her unique energy and musical sense are appreciated by audiences in venues all around the Vail Valley.

“She’s Kathy Morrow, a splendid vocalist, who can get up close to a bal-lad and the sprint through a scat cho-rus with amazing spirit and enthusi-asm,” said Cam Miller, of The Ameri-can Rag.

The trio is completed by Tom Pax-ton on bass and Larry Dutmer on drums, with Morrow on piano and vocals. Morrow appears regularly at the King’s Club in the Sonnenalp Hotel during the ski season and sometimes during the summer months. Morrow also performs as part of the vocal trio The Fabulous Femmes.

The Vail Jazz Foundation presents blues, standards, vocals and straight-ahead jazz at the Vail Farmers’ Market from noon to 3:30 pm. weekly. Next week’s concert features the Max Wagner Quartet. The Vail Jazz Foun-dation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organiza-tion, celebrating 15 years of providing jazz concerts and jazz education programs in Vail.
