Kathy Morrow Trio plays free at Vail market
VAIL, Colorado- Kathy Morrow and her trio will return to the Vail Jazz Festival stage on Meadow Drive for a free jazz performance Sunday at noon at the Vail Farmers Market.
Kathy Morrow has been singing and playing the piano in the Vail Valley for the last 17 years, after traveling and performing in Europe, Asia and parts of the Middle East.
“We always enjoy playing the market”, said Morrow. “It’s such an interesting crowd; both those diehard jazz fans who come out to support us and those who just happen by seem to really love the show.”
The trio is comprised of Tom Paxton on bass, Larry Dutmer on drums, with Morrow on piano and vocals. Morrow appears regularly at the King’s Club in the Sonnenalp Hotel during the ski season and sometimes during the summer months. Morrow also performs as part of the vocal trio The Fabulous Femmes.
The Vail Jazz Foundation presents blues, standards, vocals and straight ahead jazz at the Vail Farmers’ Market, Sundays from noon to 3:30 p.m. through Aug. 30. For more information, visit http://www.vailjazz.org.
