Kelly Liken’s Harvest Sunday Suppers return Sunday

Starting this Sunday and continuing through Sept. 18, Restaurant Kelly Liken will celebrate the summer season with a weekly Harvest Sunday Supper.

Liken will explore the expansive Vail Farmer’s Market every Sunday morning to source the artisanal products and ingredients that she will incorporate into the Sunday Supper three-course menu. The dinner is available for $45 (excluding tax and gratuity). Liken is committed to sourcing produce exclusively from Colorado purveyors whenever possible as well as supporting the local agricultural community. She works closely with farmers year-round including Morales Farms, founded in 1943 and located in Granby, which boasts one of the highest altitude working farms in the country at 8,300 feet above sea level; Grant Family Farms in Wellington; the family-owned and operated Miller Farms in Platteville; and Wynn Farms Orchards in Palisade. The menu will change every Sunday as Liken explores the market and discovers which ingredients are at their peak of flavor.

Diners can also visit the restaurant’s Facebook page on Sunday afternoon for a glimpse of some of the ingredients that may be featured on the menu that evening.

Libations served during summer will include Liken’s own hand-crafted seasonal cocktails, such as “Kelly’s Favorite Refresher” made with Leopold’s Colorado Whiskey, a splash of Port and fresh lime ($14); “The Dill Pickle Dirty Martini” featuring Cap Rock Vodka and house-made pickle juice ($14); or the Aloha Margarita with house-infused hibiscus sweet tea, Hornitos Tequila and fresh orange juice ($12), offered at the bar. Wine director, and Liken’s husband and business partner, Rick Colomitz, will offer wine pairings with each course starting at $15, including wines from local family-run boutique wineries such as 2006 Canyon Wind Sauvignon Blanc, 2007 Plum Creek Cabernet Sauvignon, 2008 Jack Rabbit Hill “Mitzis,” and a Biodynamic Riesling. Diners will also enjoy live music from the Tony Gulitzia Band, which will perform bossa nova, jazz and samba-style music every Sunday throughout the evening.
