Keystone extends night skiing hours

KEYSTONE – Due to anticipated demand from spring break skiers and riders, Keystone’s extending its night skiing/riding until April 2 and keeping the Mountain House base area open an extra week until April 3). The resort initially planned to close night skiing/riding Sunday, the same day the Mountain House was expected to close. Now, the resort will offer night skiing/riding every night until 8 p.m. through April 2. Night skiing/riding will be open until 10 p.m. today and Saturday. Adventure Point tubing hill will also extend its season and remain open (subject to conditions) 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and then 5-6 p.m. through April 2. Call 1-800-468-5004 for reservations and updated information.This year, Keystone tripled the amount of wind energy it purchased to run the resort. According to Dave November, Keystone’s environmental manager, the 707,000 kilowatts per year is enough to power the resort’s night ski lifts, lights and operations.
