Keystone to open additional intermediate and beginner terrain Saturday

Summit Daily News staff report

With snowfall totals in the double digits expected across the Colorado Rockies by early this weekend, Keystone Resort is set to open more of its main mountain terrain.

Starting Saturday, Keystone will open the intermediate Spring Dipper, accessed by the new six-passenger Montezuma Express chairlift and the River Run Gondola mid-station, which has yet to open this season.

Keystone will also open the beginner trail Scout and the Ranger chairlift. This expands Keystone’s available beginner terrain from just Schoolmarm and Silver Spoon.

Keystone, which opened for the season Nov. 10 along with fellow Vail Resorts-owned Breckenridge Ski Resort, offers downhill skiing and riding options for Epic Pass owners still waiting for Vail Mountain (Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23) and Beaver Creek Mountain (Wednesday, Nov. 22) to open for the season.
