Evans Chaffee Construction Group has chosen the Vail Valley Charitable Fund as beneficiary of company’s 8th Annual Kickball Classic and Pancake Breakfast.

While there were many deserving non-profits that applied as the beneficiary this year and the decision was extremely hard, the people at Evans Chaffee made their final decision based on their perception that the valley really needs help with the basic needs at this time such as food and medical help.

In addition to helping the Vail Valley Charitable Fund and hence the valley’s medical needs, Evans Chaffee Construction Group will also be running a food drive for the Salvation Army at the event to boost inventory at the food bank. The Kickball Classic will be held Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Eagle-Vail Pavilion and surrounding fields.

Vail Valley Charitable Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the mission of providing assistance to individuals and families who live and/or work in Eagle County and are experiencing financial crisis due to a medical catastrophe. Proceeds raised through the Kickball Classic will be restricted by the charity to assisting families with young children suffering from acute and chronic illnesses.

Evans Chaffee and Charitable Fund hope to inspire this year’s competing teams by assigning each team to play for a child in need. The teams will learn about the child, his or her family, the child’s illness and life.

“This is a great opportunity, not only to raise funds for our grant program, but to educate others about the complex needs of our friends and neighbors battling serious illnesses,” says Vail Valley Charitable Fund Executive Director Karen Simon. “We’re going to have a really fun tournament while keeping the children and their families in our minds and hearts.”
