KZYR makes waves for youth
The drive to secure auction items for the Youth Foundation’s second annual fund-raising radio auction, slated for Dec. 5 on KZYR, is currently in full swing with fun, unusual or creative items and services of all shapes and sizes on the wish list.
Dubbed “Making Waves For Youth”, the funds generated from the all-day on-air auction will be utilized to help fund the Youth Foundation’s numerous programs and projects throughout Eagle and Lake counties.
Since 1997, the Youth Foundation is the only organization to focus its efforts on serving economically disadvantaged children and their families with year-round literacy, technology, recreation and scholarship programs. Youth Foundation projects include the Magic Bookmobile, Neighborhood Net, Summer Exploration, the After School Literacy Program and Academic Soccer Clubs.
“The “Making Waves For Youth’ auction represents one of our primary funding mechanisms,” said Susie Davis, director of development for the Youth Foundation. “We had a tremendous experience last year, thanks to KZYR, and we really want to build on that initial success with not only enhanced auction items, but more awareness of what the Youth Foundation is all about and how the money gets spent.”
Individuals or businesses having items or services they would like to contribute to the Youth Foundation for the radio auction should contact the organization at 926-8905 to request a donation form.
“In addition to helping us raise money for some great regional youth programs,” Davis said, “the radio auction is a great way to generate some free publicity for area businesses, not to mention a tax-deductible contribution to the Youth Foundation.”
