VAIL — Troy Froman, executive chef at La Tour Restaurant in Vail, heads up the Chefs in the Gardens cooking demonstration series at Betty Ford Alpine Gardens in Vail today at noon. The class is $5 and teaches culinary secrets from some of Vail’s most notable chefs. Samples of the delectable dishes are included.
Following the theme of sensational summer dishes, Froman will prepare a compressed watermelon salad and discuss what a vacuum sealer does to a melon, how to pickle red onions and how to cook with the buttery, Italian burrata cheese.
