Labor Day Weekend concerts highlight Vail Jazz Festival

VAIL – The Vail Jazz Foundation, a nonprofit organization, announces its schedule for the 12th Annual Vail Jazz Festival, which is now in progress until Sept. 4. The ten-week long festival offers a different kind of festival experience. The schedule highlights 20 separate performances spanning the summer. This summer’s festival has already kicked off with the free Jazz @ the Market Series every Sunday through Aug. 20 at the Vail Farmers’ Market from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. featuring local and front range talent.

The festival culminates with The 12th annual Vail Jazz Festival’s Labor Day Weekend Party, held Sept. 1-4. This event features jazz musicians performing over 24 hours of music over the Labor Day Weekend. Hosted at the Vail Cascade Resort and Spa in West Vail, the Labor Day Weekend Party boasts featuring musicians in an intimate, cabaret-style setting of the Cascade’s Centennial Ballroom.This year’s line-up features The Clayton Brothers Quintet, Winard Harper Sextet, Gerald Clayton Trio, Bill Cunliffe Imaginacion, Trio da Paz, the Mile High Chapter Choir along with Henry Butler, Dave Corbus, Russell Malone, Tony Monaco and Annie Sellick. Vail Jazz Foundation’s Labor Day Weekend Party:Patron’s Pass $325 – includes priority seating for all performances and an invitation to Saturday Evening’s Patrons’ Dinner with ArtistsIndividual session tickets – morning and afternoons, $40; Evenings – Friday, Saturday and Sunday, $50. New this year, student tickets will be offered for the afternoon performances for $10.
