Lack of snow shuts Vail Pass rec area roads
Vail, CO Colorado
VAIL, Colorado – Due to the lack of snow within the Vail Pass Winter Recreation Area, the U.S. Forest Service is temporarily closing some seasonal snow roads and areas to motor vehicles in order to prevent resource damage.
Trail numbers 2, 9, and 10 will be closed through the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend. The Ptarmigan Hill area also is closed.
Forest Service rangers will be monitoring conditions daily in order to re-open snow roads and areas as soon as favorable conditions allow. Check in with Forest Service rangers at the fee booth for the latest information.
