Lack of Vail Valley bus service looms

Once again the working people of Eagle County get the shaft. Those who live here year ’round and pay taxes here apparently do not get to use the county bus service after April 12. Eco Transit has decided to curtail most of the service to Minturn and will stop running buses after 8 in the evening to Eagle and Gypsum except for the drunk bus at 2 a.m. So for those of you who work in Avon or Vail and need to get home after 8 p.m., you are stuck all night until the drunks go home at 2 a.m.

Of course, finding a ride at the Elk lot will still be easy as the Eco I-70, Highway 6, Beaver Creek transit and Avon transit buses all line up, but getting to Eagle and Gypsum won’t be an option. Maybe everyone living in Eagle and Gypsum should purchase a set of skis.

Even if you don’t plan on skiing, just carrying them around will guarantee that the transit officials will go out of there way to come pick you up and take you where you are going.
