Antique English padlocks were incorporated into this jewelry made by Cynthia Ann Jewels. The padlocks were typically worn on a bracelet and given to a loved one before going off to war; gentlemen would leave the locket and take the key.

VAIL — LaNae Fine Jewelry in Vail will be holding a Cynthia Ann Jewels trunk show on Friday and Saturday. Enjoy fine appetizers and special event pricing at her trunk show in Vail.

LaNae is officially presenting its direct selling fine jewelry collection for winter 2015. LaNae carries exclusive one-of-a-kind designs by Cynthia Ann, a Texas-based jewelry designer of Cynthia Ann Jewels, offering an array of antiques with rich history set into bezels of gold and platinum, making for versatile fine jewelry that can be dressed up or down.

“Cynthia Ann Jewels has redefined antique jewelry — expanding on the beauty of these historical pieces and styling them in a way that works with a gown or jeans and a cashmere pullover,” said Cherish LaNae, co-owner of LaNae Fine Jewelry.

“Cynthia Ann Jewels is one of our most popular couture brands, and we’re excited to introduce our customers to such a unique brand whose pieces hold such priceless historical value in addition to just the gold itself,” said Hakim Suleiman, also co-owner of LaNae.

Pieces from “The Antique and Olds” collection are made of one-of-a-kind medals: vintage medallions with religious meanings such as those of St. Benedict, the Virgin Mary and Guardian Angels; antique watch fobs (lovingly called “mantiques”); and vintage love tokens.

Cynthia Ann herself will be available at LaNae from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Friday and Saturday.

Cynthia Ann’s inspiration for her signature one-of-a-kind medals goes back to the year 2000, as she was grieving the loss of her mother from cancer. It was during this difficult time that she made a trip to France. As she wandered through the streets of Paris, she was drawn into the many beautiful antique shops and local markets, where she uncovered a beautiful assortment of antique religious medals. She was very taken by the beauty and meaning of these medals. They reminded her of the strong faith her mom always had. As she rummaged through the medals, she felt a strong sense of her mother’s presence and knew at that moment that her mom would always be with her.

During the next decade, Cynthia Ann continued to collect these medals throughout her European travels. When her father passed away, she knew it was time to share her collection of religious medals and she began designing jewelry full-time.

Today, as Cynthia Ann pursues her love of design, the one-of-a-kind pieces have become an integral part of the collection; to say they have taken center stage is truly an understatement. Each of the medals is lovingly and uniquely designed to enhance its original history and beauty, showcasing its time-worn message in a new and fascinating presentation.
