Landing mishap shuts down Aspen airport

ASPEN, Colorado ” A small airplane crashed Wednesday afternoon leading to the closure of the airport in Aspen, Colorado, authorities said.

Nobody was injured in the incident, which happened about 12:30 p.m. The airport is to reopen about 3 p.m., said Director of Aviation Jim Elwood.

The plane was identified as a single-engine, Piper Mirage.
