Tell us your love story contest details

• Write down your love story, in 400 words or less

• Email it to cschnell@vaildaily.com and tv8vail@vailresorts.com

• Include a high resolution photo and your phone number with your submission

• The deadline is midnight Feb. 6

Thus far, we’ve gotten love story submissions from a slew of locals, including two people who met on a chairlift, a couple who got engaged on Vail Mountain and a couple who moved to Australia in search of adventure together within a month of meeting each other. In short, there’s some great love story submissions floating around our inbox. But we’d love to read more!

Once again, the Vail Daily and TV8 are teaming up for the fifth annual Tell Us Your Love Story contest. In around 400 words or less, we want you to dish about your love story. And it might not look or sound like a traditional love story. That’s OK, please tell us anyway. Spill the sweet-and-sappy details and perhaps you’ll be one of the lucky winners.

You could write about how you first met your significant other. Maybe you felt a jolt of electricity, or maybe you wanted to slap him in the face, either way, it’s likely something you’ll never forget, and it probably makes for a darn good story.

Or tell us about when you just knew in your heart that person was “the one.” Write about your first or best date with that person, or be a real renegade and tell us about the worst date you ever had with your loved one and how despite the odds, you’ve prevailed.

The top three story tellers will take home a sweet prize. This year’s prizes include dinner for two at Splendido (does it get more romantic than that? We think not), two VIP passes to the Vail Film Festival, a 50-minute couple’s massage at Allegria Spa at the Park Hyatt in Beaver Creek or a one-night stay at The Westin Riverfront Hotel in Avon.

The best stories will be printed in the Vail Daily and the winners will be invited to share their story on TV8.

So this is your last chance, Eagle County. The contest ends at midnight Friday. Tell us your story. Make us laugh, or make us cry (bonus points for doing both with the same entry) and maybe you’ll be the lucky recipient of a sweet (and romantic!) prize.
