Last day of summer brings snow, cold to Vail and Colorado
VAIL, Colorado – The last day of summer is bringing light snow, chilly temperatures and a freeze warning to Vail, the Colorado mountains and the western part of the state.
Light snow was reported Monday in Vail and other mountain towns, and snow and rain were in the forecast for Aspen, Leadville and Steamboat Springs.
A freeze warning has been issued for parts of northwest and southwest Colorado from midnight Monday until 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The state highway department says Interstate 70 is icy in spots through the mountains.
