Lauren Glendenning: Your story goes here
The valley has many stories outside of the ones the writers here at the Vail Daily tell.
There are people with stories about life, parenting, sports, the wilderness and more. The Vail Daily’s writers try to cover as much as they can, but there just too much happening in this valley to possibly cover it all.
As the Vail Daily’s new community editor, it’s my job to get those stories told. I’m looking for aspiring writers and photographers, or just everyday people, to contribute their news to us. You will be our community reporters ” and an invaluable contribution to our local and community news sections in the Vail Daily. We want to know about little Johnnie’s no-hitter last night. We want to publish the photo snapped just after your hole-in-one yesterday. Don’t hesitate to send news to us because you think it might not be newsworthy. If it happened here in the valley, it’s news and we want to publish it. If you have the desire to see your byline in the newspaper, then what are you waiting for? Writing is something that doesn’t come naturally to everyone, and if you’re one of those people, I’m here to help you. Don’t shy away from submitting something because you think your writing won’t be good enough.
There is no right or wrong way to write. Writing has a style that is unique to each writer. If you think your writing lacks style, think again. If it’s your news and your words, it has style.
I want your news heard, and I’m here to make sure that happens. We will be recognizing our regular contributors with prizes and an annual party. Go ahead and be a Vail Daily community reporter and see your work published!
