Leaders want to help
I personally want to thank Dave Dantas, Larry Brooke, and Jenny Strehler for their quick action in addressing a crosswalk hazard in Avon.
I called Dave Dantas, our councilman, asking him for help in making a crosswalk more visible to drivers traveling through Avon. Dave met me in Avon and we walked over to view the crosswalk of concern. The issue at hand was a set of tall bushes blocking the view of the driver from the person wishing to cross the street.
Dave and I immediately spoke with Larry Brooks, expressing our concerns. I said, “there is a simple solution, trim the bushes for better visibility.” Larry appreciated my bringing it to his attention.
Thank you, Jenny Strehler, for following up with my request. She contacted the owners of the bushes and requested that they be trimmed. The bushes were trimmed!
Special thanks to the owners of the bushes for agreeing to trim the bushes so that our crosswalks are safe for everyone crossing the street.
It pays off to contact our community leaders when we have concerns. They take our concerns seriously! Thanks.
