Learn more about the history of Leadville from Gillian Klucas, author of âLeadville: The Struggle to Revive an American Townâ on Thursday, August 29 at the Vail Public Library. Gillian will talk about the book and share what she learned about Leadville while writing it. In particular, sheâll discuss the clash between the old mining town dedicated to historical preservation and the federal government determined to clean up the toxic mess left from a hundred years of mining.
