Learn about local history on snowshoe trek near Eagle
Vail, CO Colorado
EAGLE, Colorado – Join the Eagle County Historical Society for a snowshoe history trek on West Brush Creek on Friday. Local historian Kathy Heicher will share stories about the homesteaders who first settled this beautiful mountain valley and will reveal how Sylvan Lake got its start.
The trek will be a moderate, approximate two-mile walk.
Meet at 10 a.m. at the Sylvan Lake State Park Visitor Information Center parking lot. Pack a lunch for a post-tour picnic at Sylvan Lake. After lunch, there will be an optional snowshoe hike around the lake.
The outing is free for members of the Eagle County Historical Society. A $5 donation to the Historical Society is requested from non-members.
