Leftover Salmon keyboardist arrested on Edwards sex charges

EAGLE COUNTY, Colorado “-The Leftover Salmon keyboardist was arrested Tuesday for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman after a party, according to the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested William McKay, 39, at his home in Denver and charged him with alleged sexual assault.

Shannon Cordingly, spokeswoman for the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office, identified him as a member of the well-known Colorado jam band Leftover Salmon as well as the Bill McKay Band, which played at Rick and Kelly’s American Bistro at the Riverwalk in Edwards on New Year’s Eve.

McKay plays organ and piano and sings for both bands.

The sheriff’s office said a woman called the office on Jan. 9 claiming she was drugged and sexually assaulted by McKay after a New Year’s Eve party at an Edwards home.

McKay is being in the Eagle County Detention Facility on a no hold bond.
