Leopold documentary showing Wednesday in Avon

AVON, Colorado – At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Walking Mountains Science Center will host a free screening of a new film called “Green Fire,” the first full-length, high-definition documentary film ever made about legendary conservationist Aldo Leopold. The film explores Leopold’s life in the early part of the 20th century and the many ways his land-ethic idea continues to be applied all over the world today.

After the film District Ranger Dave Neely, and the Nation Forest Foundation’s Colorado director, Kim Langmaid, will take a few minutes to tell the audience more and answer questions about a local collaborative forest stewardship initiative.

A reception begins 6:30 p.m., and the film will be shown at 7 p.m. The event takes place at the Walking Mountains Science Center in Avon CO
