The Family Learning Center is selling personalized children’s CD’s for $15. There are eight songs on each CD and each is personalized to include your child’s name. This is a great gift idea for Christmas. The Family Learning Center will receive $5 from every sale to help with the purchase of classroom supplies. The deadline to order is Dec. 12. Toys for Tots needs you

Christmas in the Eagle River Valley is a difficult time for many families. Please help out by donating a $10 toy, game or appropriate gift for a child or teen. Cash donations are deposited in a Toys for Tots Toy Fund. Local businesses and organizations are encouraged to involve employees by asking for donations at company parties. You can drop off donations at City Market, Safeway, Columbine Market, the Eagle Pharmacy, all local banks, or any emergency service agency. Toys for Tots and the Salvation Army will make certain that deserving youth in the valley will receive your gifts. For details or more information, call the Salvation Army, any emergency service agency, or Toys for Tots chairman, Nick Frenze at 524-7705.

Local doc does good

Deborah Wiancek, naturopathic physician, from the Riverwalk Natural Health Clinic in Edwards is interviewed in the December issue of Ski Magazine in an article called “Healthy Skier.” In the article, Dr. Wiancek recommends arnica for bruises, sprains and strains on the slopes. Arnica cream, oil or gel, can be applied topically to any bruise, sprain or strain – the kind you get from too many yardsales. It helps reduce swelling and pain quickly thus getting you back on the slopes as fast as possible. For more information you can contact Dr. Deborah Wiancek, at the Riverwalk Natural Health Clinic in Edwards at 970-926-7606. Happy Holidays!
