Letter: Can’t close the Eagle River
One of the great joys of living in a free country is the freedom to put yourself at risk, in danger, and to test your own limits.
Every time big water comes through town, the sheriff contemplates the idea of revoking that freedom by closing the river. I’m happy to say that, as a kayaker, he cannot close the river to me, and for that, I have my father to thank.
And also thanks to Steve Lynn and Dominique Taylor for a job well done writing about and photographing kayaking’s “Grand Puba” in the June 11 edition of the Daily.
