Letter: On the issue of terrorism
I want to thank Heather Johnson for her letter to the editor about my movie, RABIA, and for her participation in discussing such an important issue for all Americans and most of the world. I also wanted to thank everyone who attended our screening at Loaded Joes last week and facilitated in creating a great discussion. Let me assure everyone who has not seen the movie that I, and everyone involved in making RABIA, do not support terrorism in any way, nor are we terrorist sympathizers. My intent in making such a controversial film was to open the discussion on an incredibly sensitive subject. To this end, I wanted to let everyone know that I plan to host more public screenings of RABIA, in addition to entering it into every film festival within Colorados House District 56, which is the seat I am running for this November.Im proud that RABIA has won awards from many festivals, including best film awards from the Show Your Short Festival of Hollywood and the Park City Film Music Festival. Clearly, our American festivals are not in the business of giving their best awards to films glorifying the acts of terrorism.Loaded Joes has agreed to screen the film again in May. I would like to personally invite Heather Johnson to join us, as well as everyone else in our good Valley, where the positive discussion can continue. And if Heather joins us, then her coffee will be on me!May peace and love be upon you all!
