Letter: Thanks for Vail football camp
Thank you, Tom Backhus, for the many years of the Vail Summer Football Camps. Many of us were very bummed to see your letter in the Vail Daily that you will be ending the camp. However, all good things must come to an end eventually. Your camp benefited several generations of football players, not only locally, but throughout the state, and even nationally. It was fun to watch you bring together some of the best collegiate coaches in the state every year to teach our boys football techniques and skills at your annual camps. Additionally, it was a huge benefit to many of us local coaches to observe practice plans, drills, and interact with these great coaches after practices. Your camp was always affordable, fun, and a valuable tool for our football players. Kids looked forward to participating in this camp for months in advance. It will truly be missed.
