Letter: Vail Mountain School rescued us

Rachel Rogers, Aspen Country Day School
Vail CO, Colorado

Last Friday, our students were greatly touched by the generosity, compassion, and genuine kindness of the Vail Mountain School.

When our fourth grade was stranded on top of Vail Pass (due to a broken-down bus) after a three-day hut trip, the wonderful teachers and administrators of Vail Mountain School did not hesitate to rescue us by shuttling our students in their own cars to their campus. We were welcomed with open arms as well as hot chocolate, a delicious lunch, and friendly faces.

Also, the delightful fourth-graders played games with our class and gave our students a tour of their campus.

We were overwhelmed by this gracious outpouring of hospitality. The Vail Mountain School is truly a phenomenal institution that epitomizes what it is to be a community. Their thoughtful actions have inspired us at Aspen Country Day School.
