Letter: Vail parking solutions

Therese Landin, Edwards
Vail CO, Colorado

Let’s face it. Vail and Beaver Creek’s parking problems will only be solved when we deposit people within a reasonable distance to the lifts. My two ideas are as follows.

1) Build huge parking structures out of the town limits of Vail, at the top of Vail Pass and Avon. From there, people will jump a high-speed train that either takes them to Meadow Drive in Vail or to the base of Chair 6 in Beaver Creek. This will reduce overall traffic, pollution and stress.

2) While we are fantasizing, forget the $12 to drive Interstate 70. Instead, have the people show proof of health insurance. This will also help take the stress off our favorite health-care systems who are struggling under the burden of people who take risks and expect their health care to be free.
