Letter: Way to go, Ritz
Vail CO, Colorado
Wow, congratulations to the Ritz for creating such an outstanding, innovative, creative program that allows visitors to our community to get involved by volunteering with local nonprofit organizations in the valley. I also commend them for engaging and involving their staff in identifying local charities to partner with in these programs.
I went to their corporate Web site and learned that their “Community Footprints” program has donated over $ 7.4 million corporately in 2007 by donations of goods and services and their staff contributed over 40,000 volunteer hours. That’s a great example of plural leadership and shared values.
With the country’s media coverage of the many negative examples of corporate greed and poor leadership, I commend the Ritz group for taking such a positive leadership position in our valley, county and around the world.
We’re proud to have you as community partners.

Are we seeing more bears because there are more bears on the valley floor, or because we’re all spending more time at home? It could be a bit of both.
