Letters: Fix Vail’s parking probs
Vail CO, Colorado
I just finished reading Kaye Ferry’s column of Wednesday, April 2. I was wondering how the Epic Pass could exacerbate the parking problem when there is no place to park at the present time? Case in point is my recent attempt to have lunch with my wife in Vail.
My wife and I both live and work in Beaver Creek and wanted to have lunch in Vail on our day off, Friday. We tried on three consecutive Fridays to get into Vail but could not find parking and returned to the Edwards area. In speaking with friends, it’s not just Fridays.
Between the construction in the summer and the lack of parking in the winter it’s no wonder that locals avoid going to Vail! How do the local business owners plan to survive? I feel sorry for them. I guess they will have to do more dinners because for locals like myself, lunch is out of the question. Kaye Ferry is right on! It’s time for Vail Resorts and the town of Vail to sit down and act like adults.
