Letters: Hope Vail stays magical
Vail CO, Colorado
Re: “No Oscar for Vail”
You got it straight about priorities around here. Luckily I have a Netflix account!
Change is good and lord knows our 1970s buildings need replacement. But can we remain a community and a real town? I’m afraid that at build-out everything will be so expensive that young families will head west and we’ll have an even higher percentage of part-time residents and visitors.
At our age, we’re here for the duration and have fabulous memories of when Vail was a real ski town with “ski bums” who believe it or not, cared about being here for the guests. You have no idea of what fun those “old days” were!
But nothing stays the same, and I hope that one way or the other, Vail remains a magical mountain town.
