Letters: Many helped with food baskets

Tsu Wolin-Brown
Vail CO, Colorado

The Vail Valley Salvation Army would like to thank all the volunteers and food donors who came and supported our Christmas Food Basket event on December 15. Thanks to the community’s generous efforts almost 500 families received food for Christmas.

We also want to thank all the volunteers (over 300!) who helped assemble and deliver the baskets. Especially those who showed up with boxes!

We appreciate the donation of space at Avon Elementary and United Methodist Church in Eagle, as well as huge efforts by Greg Osteen and Vail Valley Cares to manage food orders and delivery and set-up.

Raenette Johnson stepped in to coordinate the baskets at the west end when she was needed at the last minute. What a gift!

A special thank you to the safety workers who helped us deliver food baskets: Eagle County Sheriff, Greater Eagle Fire Department, Eagle River Fire Department, Vail Mountain Rescue, Eagle County Ambulance District, Western Eagle County Ambulance District, Eagle and Vail Police Departments.
