Letters: Vail Mountain in good hands
Vail CO, Colorado
I have read about Bill Jensen leaving Vail Mountain and I do agree that he has done an incredible job getting Vail Mountain to were it is today.
What I have failed to see in the paper is anything about the gentleman who will be taking the place of Bill as chief operating officer of Vail Mountain. His name is Chris Jarnot and guarantee that you will not meet anyone who is more in tune to our valley and ski mountain than he is.
Chris grew up here, went to elementary school and high school here, and after college at the University of Colorado,he returned to our valley and has lived here and worked here until Vail Resorts moved to the Front Range.
Like Bill, he worked his way to the top. He started with guest services while still in high school, which he continued to work at during breaks from college.
After college, he did an internship with Vail Resorts in the marketing department, which turned into a full-time position, and from that Chris worked his way all the way up to senior vice president of marketing for all of Vail Resorts.
I promise you will not find anyone who will work harder to keep Vail Mountain at the top of the ski resort world.
I would also like to take a moment to applaud Vail Resorts for putting a real hometown person in the position of COO for what I believe is the first time.
For any of the skeptics out there, mark my words, You will not be disappointed.
