Letters: Vail needs a theater
Vail CO, Colorado
I am in total agreement with Matt Zalaznick regarding no cinema or even a Blockbuster in our “real town” of Vail.
My husband and I reside in Long Beach, Calif. and have owned a residence in Vail for more than 30 years. We have watched our “real town” grow in amazement and awe; but to eliminate a movie theater has got to be the worst of the worst of all decision making for our “real town” Vail.
Obviously, the individuals responsible for this bizarre decision must exist in an uncultured, boring environment; only getting their pleasure buying real estate, skiing, eating, shopping, drinking! Do they not realize there is a lot more to life in our real town?
Besides, the children enjoying films after a day of skiing, or even enjoying a day of not skiing, and we adults (at least 80 percent of us) also enjoy watching and escaping into the world of fantasy, mystery, drama and comedy.
On my wish list, I would like to see a “temporary” cinema theater in our “real town” of Vail until 2009 is completed. Thank you for allowing me to share my view.
Vail is very much a part of me and my family.
