VAIL — The Lindsey Vonn Foundation founder, Olympic and world champion ski racer Lindsey Vonn, will host a kickoff event geared toward women, girls and their parents Tuesday. The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Donovan Pavilion in Vail and will feature internationally renowned author and speaker Rosalind Wiseman.

Rosalind Wiseman is an internationally recognized expert on children, teens, parenting, bullying, social justice and ethical leadership. She is the author of numerous publications and books including the New York Times bestseller “Queen Bees and Wannabes: Helping Your Daughter Survive Cliques, Gossip, Boyfriends and the New Realities of Girl World,” which was the basis for the hit movie “Mean Girls.”

Treat Yourself with Dignity

Each year, Wiseman works with tens of thousands of students, educators, parents, counselors, coaches and administrators to create communities based on the belief that each person has a responsibility to treat themselves and others with dignity. She was one of the principal speakers at the White House Summit on Bullying.

“I’m thrilled to be kicking off the Lindsey Vonn Foundation right here in Vail and could not be more excited about Rosalind Wiseman joining us. Her expertise is well-aligned with the mission of the Lindsey Vonn Foundation and will be the perfect introduction to what the foundation is focused on,” Vonn said. “My career has presented countless challenges and obstacles and helped me realize the importance never giving up. I want to share my experience with future generations of girls and set them up for success — with complete confidence — in whatever they dream of doing.”

Photo Booth Fun

Doors at Donovan Pavilion will open at 5:30 p.m. Complimentary refreshments will be available and space is limited and based on first-come, first-served availability. Following Wiseman’s discussion, guests are invited to learn more about the Lindsey Vonn Foundation and upcoming camps, and spend time connecting with one another. A photo booth will also be available for girls and their pals or parents to take and share photos of their evening together.

This event is brought to you by the support of Amanda Precourt and Girl PowHER.
