VAIL — Bravo! Vail’s Little Listeners @ The Library, a free concert series that travels to libraries across the Vail Valley presenting interactive events for its very youngest fans, returns this week. Designed for children age 3 and up, Little Listeners features performances by Bravo! Vail artists and musicians from across Colorado in the libraries of Vail, Gypsum, Eagle and Avon throughout the summer.

Equal parts entertaining and educational, these free events are a wonderful introduction to classical music and the art of music-making. Featured artists include members of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, as well as three events with Third Coast Percussion, the groundbreaking Chicago-based ensemble celebrated for concerts that meld the energy of rock music with the precision and nuance of classical chamber works. Third Coast Percussion events are ideal for any child with a passion for making music from pots and pans — or anything that makes a sound when it is hit, shaken, or scraped. Children will learn that it takes practice and patience to hit an instrument with the right amount of strength, in the right place and at the right time, all while having fun.

Schedule:

Wednesday, 1 p.m.: Gypsum Public Library featuring members of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, including Miika Gregg, violin and Bruce Wittrig, violin.

July 7, 1 p.m.: Eagle Public Library featuring Brent Gordon, saxophone/clarinet.
