Loaded Joe’s annual Donkey Chug returns to Avon
May 19, 2011
AVON – Loaded Joe’s in Avon hosts the 7th annual Donkey Chug on Saturday. This event is free and open to the public; it will start at 2 p.m.
Loaded Joe’s holds the event each year to show appreciation for the year-round support shown by locals, businesses and patrons. This year, they continue that tradition with an entire evening of live entertainment and free beer.
“I can’t believe this is our seventh time doing this,” said owner Kent Beidel. “This day is really just a fantastic way to give back to the community. With a little luck on the weather front, it’s also a great kickoff to the summer season.”
FIGJAM takes the stage at 7 p.m., followed by MTHDS at 10 p.m. The Loaded Joe’s staff will tap the first keg at 2 p.m. and then each subsequent keg every other hour on the hour.
“So 4, 6, 8 and 10 p.m. That’s a lot of beer,” Beidel said.
Local patron Mike Wilson has this tip for die hard donkey chuggers: “Show up early for more free beer, cause after that first keg, Joe’s gets packed. It’s fun no matter what; I mean free beer and good music, what more do you need?”
