Loaded Joe’s begins Avon theme nights with Michael Jackson tribute party
AVON – Loaded Joe’s in Avon, Colorado introduces theme nights to the local bar scene this weekend. The coffee shop/bar is enticing its bartenders and patrons to dress in specific themed attire every Saturday night. This week is a Michael Jackson Tribute Party. The best dressed individual or group will win a $50 bar tab.”Loaded Joe’s has always been a place for innovative entertainment ideas,” said founder and owner Kent Beidel. “This is a good excuse for people to get silly, root through the closet, and win a little stimulus package.”Every Saturday through the summer Loaded Joe’s will play music and video footage dedicated to a specific theme. This week is a Michael Jackson Tribute Party, so “expect to see old and new school video footage and to hear plenty of Michael Jackson classic hits,” Beidel said, “but the real entertainment will surely be all of the Michael Jacksons strutting their stuff that night.” The $50 bar tab will be awarded every Saturday at midnight and will be chosen by the bartenders for the best dressed individual or group that embodies the spirit of the theme.Beidel’s business partner, Mason Miller, came up with this Saturday’s theme when one of the bartenders called him announcing Michael Jackson’s death and suggested that “we play ‘Thriller’ right away” in the bar as a tribute. “That idea made me think, why not dedicate a whole night to the King of Pop?” Miller said. The next month’s upcoming themes are:Saturday: Michael Jackson Tribute Party.July 11: Revenge of the Nerds.July 18: Golf Pros & Tennis Hoes.July 25: Pajama Party.Future themes will be posted in the event calendar in the High Life section of the Vail Daily, announced weekly on KZYR 97.7FM – The Zephyr, and can always be found at http://www.loadedjoes.com.Loaded Joe’s themed night each Saturday are free and open to patrons 21 years old and over.
