Loaded Joe’s in Avon gets a facelift
AVON, Colorado – Loaded Joe’s is open just about all the time – about 360 days a year. So a remodeling job didn’t keep the Avon coffeehouse closed very long.
Owner Kent Beidel decided that after being open since early 2005 in the Avon location – there’s also a store in Vail – it was time to freshen things up. So the crew shut the place down Oct. 5 and 6 and got to work, replacing some flooring, taking out the lounge on a short pedestal in the middle of the space and putting in some fresh – or at least re-upholstered – furniture.
“Things can get a little tired,” Beidel said. “We wanted to keep it current, keep it nice.”
Sarah Langston, who handles marketing for Loaded Joe’s, said the big work got done while the shop was closed, but that other changes will happen on the fly.
“We hope to have it all done by early November,” Langston said.
Participate in The Longevity Project
The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.
While the Vail location was just remodeled two years ago, Beidel said there will be a few subtle changes at that store, too, just to reinforce that the two shops are run by the same people.
And this fall’s re-do isn’t the end.
“We’ll have a second phase coming in the spring,” Beidel said.
But you can guess that Loaded Joe’s will be open most of the time then, too.
