FRISCO, Colorado – Invoking the spirit of national unity that was born 9/11, a local group of political activists will host a commemorative Tea Party Saturday at the Eagle’s Nest community center in Silverthorne.

Organizer Lisa Knobel bills the event as a time for people to “get rowdy,” and, “be heard,” for anyone concerned with the direction of government.

The conservative Tea Party movement is known for its concern about taxes and expansion of government.

According to a press release from Knobel, the Tea Party will include guest speakers, including potential candidates for local and state office.

The event will also feature open-mic opportunities for attendees to ask questions, make a statement or just share their concerns.

“Come and challenge the candidates to uphold the constitution or just sign a petition, but don’t let this opportunity pass,” Knobel said.

The Tea Party is Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Eagle’s Nest community center, 2950 Golden Eagle Drive, Silverthorne.
