Local artists work to be displayed in Denver show

Art critic Michael Paglia of Denvers alternative weekly newspaper, Westword, has selected Edwards fine art photographer Raymond A. Bleesz for an upcoming photography show in Denver. Bleeszs images of Eagle County will be part of a photography show at Spark Gallery in downtown Denver.Photographers were allowed to submit three images with an open theme. All three of Bleeszs submitted photographs showcasing Eagle Countys heritage were selected. The first print, a 16×20 framed archival silver gelatin black and white print entitled Historic Footbridge, Eagle River, Eagle Colo., was taken at the Diamond S Ranch along Highway 6 & 24 earlier this summer. The other photograph, a silver gelatin Selenium toned print, was taken last spring during mud season and is titled Colorado River Ranch, Railroad Siding. The third image is the most recent a black and white archival silver gelatin print taken in June and titled Berry Creek Equestrian Center, Edwards, Colo., The Last Horse.Bleesz has been photographing Colorados heritage since the 1970s. He is a member of the Colorado Photographic Arts Center and Working With Artists and has shown in Denver and Boulder since the 70s.Other Bleesz photographs can be viewed at Brush Creek Dry Goods in Riverwalk in Edwards or online at http://www.brushcreekdrygoods.com.Spark Gallery is located at 900 Santa Fe Drive in Denver.
