Local Brookstreet Securities office changes affiliation
High County Business Review
Brookstreet Securities of Irvine, Calif., closed June 29. The company had branches in Frisco and in Edwards.
The Frisco branch had consolidated into the Edwards location in December, after Steve Strickland retired. The Edwards location remains open, with a different affiliation. When Evelyn Pinney, branch manager, discovered Brookstreet Securities was closing about two weeks ago. She sent out letters to all of her roughly 400 clients in Summit and Eagle counties, as well as nationwide.
The company changed its affiliation from Brookstreet Securities, which was an independent broker that held accounts with National Financial Services, a subsidiary of Fidelity, to Berthel Fisher, based out of Marion, Iowa. Berthel Fisher is a NASD registered broker/dealer and SEC Registered Investment Advisory firm with more than 350 representative nationwide. National Financial Services is expediting the re-registration of all accounts, which takes about 48 hours.
Most of the re-registration forms have been returned, Pinney said. She assures clients that their investments are safe and secure and clients who have chosen to withdraw money have had no problems. The only difference clients will see is the name change on their statements, she said.
