Vail, CO Colorado

EDWARDS, Colorado – With more than two years of design, planning, and construction coming to a close, Nine Pines Ranch up Lake Creek is on target to achieve the internationally recognized U.S. Green Bbuilding Council LEED For Homes Gold Certification. A LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold rating is the second highest achievable level, and the rating system takes into account building performance in five areas: energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, materials selection, sustainable site development and water savings.

Local companies Morter Architects and R.A. Nelson and Associates were the lead design and construction firms on the Nine Pines project.

“The most satisfying and perhaps unique design aspect of Nine Pines Ranch is that it took a very cooperative team effort to build to LEED gold standards at 8,000 feet in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, without compromising any of the owner’s goals or desires” said Jim Morter, principal of Morter Architects.

The Nine Pines Ranch team includes R.A. Nelson, Morter Architects, Krueger Architecture, REI Structural, Sherri Dorward Landscape, Associates III, Active Energies, and HW Builders.
