Local Democrats have eight caucus sites
EAGLE COUNTY — Colorado’s caucus for the 2016 presidential race is Tuesday, and the Eagle County Democrats have announced their plans to hold the event at eight sites in Eagle County.
Anyone registered as a Democrat at his or her current address as of Jan. 4 of this year, is eligible to participate. Participants will voice their opinions concerning presidential candidates and elect delegates to the Eagle County Assembly, which is scheduled for March 19 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Battle Mountain High School. Delegates elected at the County Assembly will then proceed to the Colorado Democratic Convention. From there, delegates are chosen for the national convention.
Caucus participants also have the opportunity to become key local players as precinct committee members and helping to develop the Democratic platform for 2016.
Tuesday’s Democratic caucus sites are located in Vail, Red Cliff, Minturn, Eagle-Vail, Avon, Edwards, Eagle and Gypsum.
