Colorado’s landscape professionals were recognized for creating landscapes at homes and businesses throughout the state at Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado’s 2003 Excellence in Landscape Awards banquet Wednesday. The awards provide an exciting preview of the state’s landscaping trends for the year ahead, organizers say.-

Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado’s 2003 Excellence in Landscape Awards competition is the only program of its kind in Colorado. These annual awards recognize unique landscapes across the state that are constructed, irrigated, renovated and maintained by the organization’s members, said Executive Director Kristen Sirovatka.

“These winning landscapes demonstrate innovative industry trends and honor industry leaders,” Sirovatka said.

Categories ranged from Xeriscape (a group of environmentally friendly landscaping techniques) and landscape construction to renovation, special areas and use of color with annuals.-
